Our Blackwood on the Cove custom home in Fargo, ND is, some would say, the best of both worlds. The home combines a contemporary exterior paired with a new age rendition of the mid-century modern style on the interior. (continue reading below)
The exterior of the home is all black steel siding that has been placed vertically in a reverse board and batten pattern with a one inch reveal. The wood accents are cedar which look stunning next to the all black siding. The 8 foot tall custom front door has inset glass panels for an added modern appeal. The central stone column gives the home strength and creates a bold front entry.
The interior of the home weaves the geometric patterns popularized by the mid-century modern movement throughout the home. In the kitchen you see them in the backsplash tile. In the bathroom you see them in the way the tiles are installed in the shower stall. In the master bedroom you see the geometric patterns in the accent wall.
The living room has an inspired nautical theme and features the color Anchors Aweigh by Sherwin Williams. A limestone fireplace surround, wicker and wooden textures bring warmth to the area.
The kitchen is a show stopper. Stained walnut upper cabinets keep the space warm while the all white lowers, white quartz countertops and all-white stainless steel appliances keep the space modern.
